The National Institute of Design(NID)
Prominent institute of Design in India and also a well-known institute in Asia.
Set up in 1961 it is an autonomous institution for education, research and training in
various fields of design under the Ministry of Industry.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Through a unique extensive, Drawing Design Aptitude Test conducted at Ahmedabad)
Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi in January followed by a 1 day workshop
and Interview in April/May every year. Students appearing for the qualifying examination
may also apply, forms are out in September/October every year.

National Institute of Fashion Technology was set up in
1986 under the aegis of the Ministry of Textile,
Government of India. It has seven centres for which a
common entrance examination is held. NIFT is a founder
member of International Federation of Fashion
Technology
Institutes (IFFTI). It also has alliances with Fashion
Institute of Technology, New York; Nottingham Trent
University, UK and recently with Royal Melbourne Institute
of Textiles, IFM, Paris and has strategic alliances with
business, corporation. viz.., JUKI Corporation, Singapore
